All club activities are postponed until the coronavirus situation is more clear. With infection rates in Queensland increasing, we are halting our activities. Others (eg the aquatic centre) are doing the same for UQ clubs. A message from the committee follows.
Dear Members,
UQCC Club email 17th March 2020
As you would be aware, Coronavirus is continuing to disrupt business as usual within all aspects of life. With the constantly evolving situation, the UQCC has made the difficult decision to suspend all club activities for the short term (including inductions, pool training, weekend trips and paddling from the shed). This is not a decision we make lightly but is reflective of our top priority being the safeguarding of our members and the broader public.
Due to the uncertainty of COVID-19, we are unable to say how the virus will impact events in the next few months but will continue to monitor and provide updates to you, our members as we learn more.
We appreciate your understanding in this uncertain time and urge all members to put their health and wellbeing as a priority in these trying times. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
Stay Safe,
Henry & The UQCC Committee
Clearly is the biggest challenge the club has faced since the 2011 floods. Your patience and consideration is certainly appreciated.
Update: 19th March
- Offsite trips, events, and social gatherings are cancelled (effective immediately) in accordance with the UQ decision to cancel or postpone all events that are not integral to teaching and/or research programs. This directive is in place until 30th June 2020 unless otherwise announced.
- Refer to UQ Sport’s updates for broader information about UQ Sport facilities.
