An introductory 21 km distance paddle up the river, just past Indooroopilly Bridge. This is a chance to show you can paddle these distances. We will take sea kayaks.
Date: Fri, 21 March 08 (sorry – changed from Mon 24th)
Grade: 1+ (~ 4-5km/hr) – note that this is a longer distance than a normal grade 1, but it is with the tide in both directions.
Distance: ~21 km (10.5 km each way)
Time: 7:30 AM (8:00AM depart)
Tide: High 10:38 AM (Indooroopilly)
Time: ~5-6 hrs (including stops)
Bring: water, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, morning tea / nibblies for on the trip, insect repellent. We should be back around lunch, but it might take longer, so you may regret not taking some food – bring some)
Meet: UQCC shed (7:30 AM)
Requirements: Basic fitness

- 15 break at Long Pocket
- Return UQ shed
Constraints: We may opt to load up the sea kayaks with some water to simulate a kayak load…
