An overnight camping trip to Peel island in Moreton Bay.
This is an overnight paddle to Peel island and camping on the island. Peel Island is a larger island in Moreton bay. This trip is limited to those who already have some experience kayaking (i.e. not complete beginners), have reasonable skills, and have demonstrated on the river that they can use a skirt and do an assisted rescue.
Requirements:
- Paddle a loaded sea kayak at ~5 km / hr for up to about 2 hours at a time
- Wet exit from a sea kayak (must have practiced)
- T-rescue recovery from a sea kayak (must have practiced)
- Be able to handle rougher water and small swell

Distance: about 19 km (Sat), 15 km (Sun)
Paddle time: ~3 hrs each day
Costs: Camping $5 (bring this in cash). A contribution for petrol, and a donation towards kayak upkeep if you can afford it.
Meet: 6:30 AM at the club Saturday morning. Depart Victoria Point.
