Fingal / Tweed River weekend

This trip will focus on introductory sea kayaking. The aim of the weekend is to improve your paddling, so we will focus on paddling skills on the weekend. The weekend is meant for beginners and basic skills level people, but everyone is welcome.

The aim of the trip is a skills weekend. The format will be roughly this:

  • Saturday morning
Basic skills in the lagoon on the river. Cover paddling strokes, rescues, safety, water conditions etc.
  • Saturday afternoon
Paddling up the river to find a nice spot for afternoon tea. Practicing our newly found skills on our little trip.
  • Late Saturday afternoon
More advanced skills for those whose arms are still attached after a full days paddling. This will depend on the group.
  • Saturday night
    Tall stories.
  • Sunday Morning
More skills or a paddle somewhere, this will depend on the group and how we are progressing and the general consensus.
  • After Lunch
    Head home to Bris Vegas.
