Access to the Shed for Paddles – Checklist

A number of things must be completed before you are given access to the shed to go paddling on the river. This can be confusing to new members (especially with Covid), so here is a checklist of what you need.

  • Membership form and payment – you need to be a paid up financial member.
  • Inductions – you need to have completed both the on water and off water inductions
  • Swim test – you must have completed a UQ sport swim test within the previous two years and have uploaded a picture of the certificate (link on the swim test page).
  • Solo paddler declaration – another bit of paperwork you need to sign and submit to the club here.

You may have completed all these, but does the club have the information? Please check with the membership officer if there is a delay. Sometimes we miss things and we need you to ask!

Once you have completed all this you will be –

  • given access to a shed key
  • sent the shed code
  • sent the password for scheduling river paddles on the Covid Safe calendar.
