Start from UQCC shed paddling with the tides to Sherwood arboretum for BBQ and games. Return on the turn of the tide back to shed after lunch.
Departing the UQCC shed at 8am, the group will paddle with the tides up the Brisbane river 14.5km at a slow pace to the Sherwood Arboretum opposite lone pine sanctuary. A brief half-way stop will occur at Oxley creek, where is a pontoon and toilets.
The Paddle back to the shed will occur around midday when the tide is full and starts flowing downstream back to the UQCC shed, where the trip ends.

Paddlers Requirements: Paddlers can be of any level, this trip is aimed at giving experience to beginner paddlers of what to expect from longer trips
Alternate route/Take out points: Taxi (boat can be towed back to Shed)
Risks: boat traffic, fatigue, suburn, dehydration, paddle related injuries
Steps to alleviate risks: Bring a change of clothes for the end of the paddle, Dress for the outdoors, Bring wind/ rain proof cag/ jacket. Advise trip leader of any medical conditions beforehand. Make participants aware of the potential of encountering snakes (on land) at this location this time of year.
