Club members interested in obtaining canoe qualifications (flatwater, whitewater, and sea kayaking) need to register their interest now.
The club has a Queensland Government grant to improve leadership within the club. Consquently the club is looking for members to participate in training and assessment for QC kayak qualifications. The following places are available –
- White water
- Whitewater Skills, Whitewater Guide.You will run a club trip as part of this (under qualified supervision) in late September/October – Three places available
- Sea kayaking – Sea Guide, Sea Leader, or Sea skills
- You will run a club trip as part of this (under qualified supervision) on either the 22nd of September (2 places) or the 20th October (2 places). Four places available.
- Flatwater
- Flatwater coach Level 1: K1 Paddlers only. At the UQ shed on the 22 and 23rd of September. Three to six places available
The club will try to find ways to increase the number of places if there is sufficient interest, so please register your interest now and include background that is relevant to the qualification you are interested in. If you are interested in other qualifications not listed, please contact the committee.

These training activities are made possible due to a 2012 Queensland Government Grant (Department of Communities) to improve club leadership depth. The grant was part of the department’s Sport and Recreation Inclusion Program (Club support category).
