UQ Healthy week Come & try & BBQ

To support UQ’s Healthy week and Queensland canoeing’s mass come and try event across the state, the club is holding a second come and try day scheduled for Saturday 4th August between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM. Prospective members are encouraged to come along.

Date: Sat, 04 August 2012
Time: 8:00AM to 11:00 AM (any time in the morning)
Location: UQ Canoe Club Boat shed, located here.
Age: All participants must be over 18 years of age
Cost: Only $5 and includes the barbeque & drinks. Free for current members who come and help.

Tide: High 10:54 AM (Brisbane bar) ~11:00 AM at the shed.
Moon: Full on 2nd Aug.

Come dressed in sensible gear (eg shorts/shirt). A hat and dark glasses are also recommended. You can bring a towel and dry clothes just in case….. (though hopefully you’ll not need these). There are warm showers and toilets in the shed complex if required.

Club Inductions
After 11:30 AM there will be club inductions for anyone definitely joining (or who has already just joined). These are introductions to the club and its procedures and will take 60-90 min. Sign up during market day or on the day if you are definitely planning to join. There are limited places.
