Course Description:
A short lap course as been developed to provide good spectator viewing, closer racing, and plenty of turn practice with 3 turns per lap.
Starting at the Fitzroy Canoe Club pontoon, paddlers will proceed upstream on the Eastern side of the rowing lanes, keeping all rowing lanes on competitors left. Paddlers will cross to the Western bank at the end of rowing lanes (approx 2km), using the two large Yellow Rowing Lane Markers as the turn buoys. Proceed downstream once again keeping all rowing lanes on the competitors left until the single large Yellow Rowing Lane Marker is reached at end of rowing course. Paddlers will then continue to a 3 buoy turn (red drums) approx 250m downstream and proceed back up the eastern side of the rowing course. This will complete one 5km (approx) lap.
