A weekend away camping on South Stradbroke Island.
We will depart from the Paradise Point foreshore opposite the end of Muscovey Avenue (south of the Sovereign Island Bridge).
We will depart around 9 AM, paddling north. There will be tide, but these are neap tides and we will avoid the worst of this. We will follow the western side of South Stradbroke island to TIppler’s campground. We’ll have lunch (and set up camp if time), and then there will be an option to continue to visit the Bedrooms before returning to Tippler’s. There will be an option to walk across the island and see the surf beach and/or do skills practice.
On Sunday we will return south and take the longer route along the Western side of Coomera island to return to Paradise Point (18 km). If needed we can take the Eastern side for a faster / shorter return trip (10km). Another alternative is to paddle along the north western side of Coomera island and then follow Wasp Creek (tides permitting) to the eastern side of Coomera island and then return to Paradise Point along the Eastern side (15 km)
