Pool skills night II

General club skills session in the UQ Pool. One of two skills nights for the semester. Don’t miss out! HEATED POOL (27 deg.)!

Date: Tuesday, 5th August 2008
Time: 7:30 PM to 9:00PM
Cost: $7.50 (UQCC members)
Location: University of Queensland Pool (UQ Building 27 or picture)
Purpose: Training, general skills development, polo games, skill building competitions, & fun.

Bring: A towel and something warm for later – you will get wet.

Pool training is ideal for new members. It complements basic training sessions on the river, and is strongly recommended for anyone planning to take part in the whitewater introduction day at Wivenhoe. It is also the best introduction for those wanting to start playing canoe polo.

Don’t be put off because a particular type of training session doesn’t appear to suit the kayak discipline that interests you. Learning to handle kayaks and water conditions used in other disciplines will help build skills that may be harder to learn in your main discipline. These skills pay off no matter what kind of kayaking you do.

Look here for more information about skills training within the club. Take advantage of it while it’s on.
