Annual General Meeting 2021

The club is having its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday evening 26th May. This is a very important meeting for the club, so please put it in your diaries and come along.  We need enough non- committee members to come.


If we don’t have a quorum as per our club rules then we can’t have the meeting. If we don’t have this meeting the club will stop operating until we do.

The AGM is the meeting where members have an opportunity to join the club committee and become more involved, contributing to its activities for the following year. The club is entirely voluntary, so if too few people volunteer then this will limit the club for everyone. The club is only as good as its volunteers!

There are many opportunities for involvement, where this can be a minor or more major role on the committee. If you are interested in any of the positions (or any positions at all) please email the club secretary (Siti) and talk to current committee members.

The following vacancies will exist for 2021. The most important of these is  the President.

Essential positions to be filled

  • President
    Oversee the activities of the club. Chair meetings. Encourage and engage members and new members. Work with the committee to ensure the club keeps functioning.

Other positions

  • Social
    Promote social activities within in the club. Admin Facebook. Build you knowledge of how the club operates.
  • Publicity
    Promote the club. Help coordinate come and try days / market days. Build you knowledge of how the club operates.
  • Fundraising and Grants
    Work with experienced committee members to apply for, coordinate, and implement grants for the club. This can make a really big difference to the club. It’s also a great way to develop confidence and skills that may be essential to your future career (eg postgrad students preparing for a future in research!).

While this meeting should not take very long, it is a critically important meeting for the club, and we must have sufficient members attending to form a quorum. Please come along if you are able. To attend the AGM you must be a current financial member.
