\nThe sea kayaking trip calendar has been designed to progress from lower grade trips through to higher grade trips. This is so members with none or little sea kayaking experience can acquire basic skills and experience early in the semester and progress through to higher grade trips later in the semester.<\/p>\n

\nMembers with none or little sea kayaking experience, particularly those who would like to participate in the Moreton Island and Fraser Island trips, will need to start with the Jacobs Well, Iluka\/Yamba, Pumicestone Passage and North Stradbroke Island trips. Members with a higher skill level and experience (preferably demonstrated in a log book) as well as reasonable fitness will be able to participate in the higher graded trips. If you are interested in these trips, start to plan now so that you possess the appropriate skill, experience and fitness level by the end of semester.<\/p>\n

\nIt will be a condition of participating in any Club sea kayaking trip that you attend a pre-trip briefing for the relevant trip. Pre-trip briefings will normally be scheduled for 7:30am at the Club’s boat shed the Saturday before the trip departs. The pre-trip briefing will provide a more detailed description of the trip and provide an opportunity for participants to seek further information and ask questions relevant to the trip. The pre-trip briefing will also cover the clothing, equipment, food and water required for the trip.<\/p>\n

\nSea kayaking is an activity that is subject to changing weather conditions. If the weather conditions are unsuitable for a particular trip the Club will endeavour to change the trip destination to one that is more suitable to the prevailing weather conditions. The Club supports safe and responsible paddling. <\/p>\n

\n– All trips are lead by a professional fully qualified sea kayak instructor
\n– All of the trips include transportation
\n– All trips depart and return to the Club\u00eds Boat Shed
\n– Sea kayaking equipment is included for all trips
\n– Participants are required to supply their own clothing, food and water
\n– The Club has limited camping equipment for participants to use on trips (Camping Gear<\/a>)
