2008 Sea Kayak Symposium
Registrations are open for a three day sea kayak symposium hosted by Qld Canoeing in November 21-23 on the Gold Coast. Register now as places are limited.
Circumnavigate Green Island
Green Island is surrounded by banks and at high tide turtles and other sea life is
common. It’s a pleasant trip and will probably take about 4-5 hours including breaks.
Circumnavigate Bribie Island
The Adventure: we will circumnavigate Bribie Island over three days. The direction and starting point will be announced closer to the date because they are highly dependent on wind, swell and tides.
Duration: Three days
Time: packing boats Friday evening, leaving early Saturday morning.
Date: Queens Birthday long weekend, the 7th to the 9th of June 2008.
The Paddle: you need to be comfortable paddling two 30km days and one 20km day, potentially into some current and wind. We will also be crossing the bar at Caloundra so you need to be either comfortable in surf OR happy to get wet. We will get you through if you are keen enough!
Cost: camping, EPA rates, about $4 a night.
Issues: there are other trips on that weekend (see the website) so we will be a little tight on boats. The quicker you reply, the more likely you will be able to come along.
