TK1 and K1 flatwater trip

A small morning group to build TK1 and K1 stability and confidence on calm waters with a friendly bank nearby at Regatta Lake in Springfield. Also practise flat water rescues.

This is an opportunity to improve your skills in the tippy kinds of flatwater boat in cleaner water than the Brisbane river. This will take place over the morning only. Limited places.

Note this trip has now moved to Wivenhoe dam.

  • Meet at the club shed at 7.45am to select kayaks and load them on cars.
  • Depart 8 am or before for Logan Inlet on Wivenhoe dam.
  • Meet in Fernberg opposite the bakery to buy snacks/lunch if needed.
  • Travel in convoy to Logan Inlet. Arrive about 9.30 am
  • Depart Logan Inlet and return to Brisbane when we have had enough.

  2. At about 28 km after leaving the club and before you get to Ipswich take the Warrego Highway towards Toowoomba
  3. After 14 km turn right onto the Brisbane Valley Highway going to Fernvale and Esk
  4. After another 14km Meet up in Fernvale at popular bakery where we can buy snacks
  5. Continue 9km to cross Wivenhoe Dam Wall
  6. Continue 5 km and turn right into Hay Rd – its signposted to “Logan Inlet”
  7. After 1 km turn left into Logan Inlet Rd.
