The club holds sessions on most Saturdays during semester. It is possible to arrange trial or introductory sessions at other times by emailing the club (enquiries). Trial paddles may be limited or not offered during Uni holidays, exams, or some club trips. Please be mindful that these paddles are taken by club volunteers. If you are planning to bring many friends, please email enquiries first.
Meeting time: 7:30 AM
Duration: 1-2 hours
Paddle type: Flatwater
Bring: Hat, a long sleeved shirt, a water bottle, sunscreen, dark glasses, and suitable footwear. Money if it is a market paddle. Food if it is a barbecue or breakfast paddle.
Location: University of Queensland building 30 - UQ Canoe club boat shed
Address: North river end of Sir William MacGregor Drive, St. Lucia
Purpose:
- for beginners and training
- introduction for new members to the shed, and shed procedures
- one free trial paddle for non-members before becoming a member (participants be over 18 years old and must not have undertaken a trial paddle previously).
- regular social paddle session for all members.
