Introduction for new members
Welcome to an exciting and vibrant south east Queensland canoe club. The UQ Canoe Club has a range of sea kayaking, canoe polo, white water, flatwater, canoeing, camping, and safety equipment for members to use.
You don't need to be a student to join and as a member of the club you can participate in massively discounted trips including whale watching, paddling on the Noosa River, in Moreton Bay or white water kayaking! In addition to all of this the club conducts social paddles to Southbank or West End (sometimes for breakfast or shopping), paddle groups every week for either fitness or social paddlers, skills sessions for members PLUS if you would like to further your skills by completing a course through Qld Canoeing, we may pay up to half of the course fees for you (committee approval required)! If you want to have a go before joining, the club runs a big come and try day at the beginning of each Semester. Alternatively, you can come one any Saturday morning DURING SEMESTER (except during the exam period or if there is a club sea kayaking trip on). However you must be able to swim, and you will be required to sign a waiver and abide by the club rules. Note that you are allowed only one come and try trial paddle. Find out how to join.
