A Mediterranean Odyssey: Paddling the Mediterranean

Huw Kingston as completed a year long, human-powered circumnavigation of the Mediterranean Sea by sea kayak, foot, ocean rowboat and bike. He is at Queensland University as part of a national speaking tour.

Huw Kingston spent a year from Anzac Day 2014 to the Anzac Day Centenary in 2015 traversed 14,000km across and along 17 countries in Europe and North Africa. The expedition earned Huw the Australian Geographic ‘Spirit of Adventure’ Award and raised $85,000 for Save the Children Australia.

He has spent over 30 years journeying in wild places across the world. This has included 25,000km right around Australia by kayak, foot, ski and bike, a 15 year love affair with ski touring in the Himalaya and all manner of other journeys.
