Paradise Point training day (G1)

A training day and paddle at Paradise point on the Gold Coast. Skills and rescues then a paddle to South Stradbroke Island.
Full DetailsParadise Point is a sheltered area abutting the Broadwater.
We will meet at the club shed at 6 AM with a view to departing at 7 AM, and being on the water by 9.30 am.
The training session will start with a quick revision of paddling strokes and techniques. It will concentrate on rescues and edging.
After the training session we will kayak on the Broadwater and visit South Stradbroke Island.
Safety: Sea kayaking on Moreton Bay can be hazardous. The trip may be modified if conditions are unsuitable.

Meet: 6 AM at the UQ Canoe Club to load kayaks. Depart 7 AM and drive to Paradise Point. Aim to be on the water before 9.30 AM.
Tides: High tide is at 8.30 AM Low tide 2.40 PM
Registration: Please register your interest with Michael at "seakayaking" followed by"@uqcanoeclub.net" by email (first come first served). Please indicate whether you have transport and if you have roof racks for kayaks.
