Congratulations to Upstream Paddle who have just launched the first quarterly issue of their free online paddling magazine. Upstream paddle is based in Brisbane, and primarily covers paddling activities around Southern Queensland and Northern NSW.

There is a BBQ as part of the Come N Try day. All members are invited to come and enjoy the first social event of the year. Bring a friend who you think might like to join the club.

Don't really like the Brisbane river water? There will be a Canoe skills night in the UQ swimming Pool on Tuesday 27 Feb 07. It is open to all club members, who are encouraged to come and participate.

White water training day at Wivenhoe is coming up. Check the trips section for details.

As part of the O-week, the university and the BCC are hosting a free bridge fun day to celebrate the opening of the Eleanor Schonell Bridge. The club is putting on displays and races, and members are invited (and needed) to participate.

Anyone interested in joining the club is invited to a 'Come & try day' on Saturday 24th Febuary 2007 at 7:30 AM. Come and have a paddle on the river, see the boats and facilities, meet club members, and find out more about joining up.

The club has a display on Wednesday 21 Feb 2007 as part of the UQ orientation week UQ sport market Day.

Two very long sea kayaking journeys are underway. One around Australia, and one from Australia to New Zealand. Track them via the associated links.
